Caregiver Recognition Day is an annual event dedicated to honoring family caregivers and providing education, resources, and support for those caring for aging loved ones. This year’s event was a huge success and we wanted to follow up by sharing a few highlights and photos. As a Senior Concerns Board Member, Assisted Living Connections co-owner Kelila Heller has been involved in helping organize this meaningful event for the past eight years.
This year, Kelila spent part of the day greeting attendees and sharing resources outside the venue alongside her husband, Rob, and their Standard Poodle, Augie, who quickly became a favorite among guests.
Inside, attendees enjoyed lunch, thoughtful gifts, and presentations from Dr. Lorne Label, Neurologist, and Mark Stelzer, MSW, Dementia Care Specialist. One of the most impactful parts of the day was hearing directly from family caregivers who shared their personal experiences caring for loved ones living with dementia, offering honest insights, encouragement, and connection to others on similar journeys.
We are grateful to Senior Concerns for continuing to create opportunities for caregivers to feel seen, supported, and appreciated!
